Crafting Rituals
Ritualise your life.
Throughout time and space, ritual was an important part of human existence. With ritual, human actively and consciously participates in cosmic and natural cycles and life is inherently given a symbolic and intuitive meaning. Through ritual, the gross reality (here ‘gross’ means raw not disgusting) creates a bond with a subtle reality. One may then say that ritual is an art of crafting meaning into human existence through establishing relationship with time, space and phenomena.
Since it is inherently relational, ritual begins to the domain of Eros, the domain of which woman is the priestess and authority. A woman, our mother, is our first relationship. Then once she births us, she introduces us into relationship with food via her milk, and as she instructs us and teaches us, crafts our relationship with the reality itself. Our mother, unless we make conscious effort to expand beyond her, is the entire menu of what is available to us relationally, emotionally and intuitively.
Ritual also belongs to the interior life. Interior to mean not just within the home but that part of life which is the emotional, experiential, perceptive, intuitive, reflective and inherently symbolic part of us. It is an art of sculpting the interior. The sculpted interior is a real emotional, psychic and spiritual need. For both men and women but while men sense that meaning and purpose is lost when it is lost, women sense that they themselves, as persons have been lost and erased from reality.
Volupta has touched previously on how to spend a beautiful day at home, which relates to today’s topic. The article is entirely free:
